We are still trying to get an understanding of where the State Government's policy is with highrise development. As previously noted Baillieu Government changed the planning act to remove the requirement to allow for high rise, high density development along every tram, train, bus or light rail corridor.
Further to that below are a couple of election advertisements where the Liberal party promised to "fight to ensure the character of our neighbourhood in preserved" by stopping "high-rise over-development." This State Government commitment needs to be taken into account with the formation of the Ivanhoe Structure Plan.
